Luis Alvaro is a coffee producer from Urrao, Antioquia. He has around 2.800 coffee plants, growing only Caturra variety. They called it Caturra “Chiroso” that is a mutation that appeared in Antioquia region, that presents a floral and citric profile.
Luis has been producing specialty coffee since 2011 when the Cooperative of Coffee Growers of Salgar give them some courses and training on specialty coffee. He has participated in several national and regional quality competitions obtaining excellent results and in some cases being the winner. He lives with his wife and his daughter. They are very happy with the changes, cause they have been able to improve coffee quality. This has helped to improve their quality of life.
