When we talk about coffee, we talk about people, nature, and tradition. Our Farmer’s Coffee line brings you exactly that — a story that’s real, transparent, and deeply rooted in the mountains of Guatemala.
This time, we proudly introduce coffee from Finca La Bella, a farm whose story began more than sixty years ago.

Finca La Bella – Beauty Growing in Harmony with Nature

Finca La Bella lies in the Sierra de las Minas mountain range, in the El Progreso region of Guatemala, at about 1,550 meters above sea level. The farm was founded in 1962 by Teodoro Engelhardt II, who named it La Bella — “The Beautiful” — for the breathtaking landscape that surrounds it.

For generations, the Engelhardt family has cared for this land. Today, Teodoro Engelhardt continues his family’s legacy by cultivating coffee sustainably and respectfully, ensuring every bean reflects the balance of its environment.
At La Bella:

The result is coffee that’s vibrant, pure, and full of character — a true expression of its origin.

From Mountain to Cup

The road to La Bella is an adventure of its own. After leaving the main paved road, a 20 km dirt track winds upward from arid lowlands to lush, green mountains. As you ascend, the scenery and climate change dramatically — from dry desert to dense tropical forest — showing just how diverse Guatemala’s landscapes are.

Once harvested, the coffee cherries are delivered to the on-site mill by farm trucks. There, they undergo a meticulous double fermentation process, careful washing, and drying using both solar and mechanical methods. Every step ensures that the coffee retains its clean, complex flavour.

The farm is constantly innovating with eco-friendly practices — recycling water, using solar energy, and composting coffee pulp — to reduce waste and care for the environment.

Sierra de las Minas – A Rising Coffee Region

While Sierra de las Minas isn’t one of Guatemala’s oldest coffee regions, it’s quickly earned recognition for its unique microclimate and rich soil. Coffee cultivation began here in the 1950s and 60s, and although yields are lower in the highlands, the quality is exceptional. Over the last two decades, Sierra de las Minas has gained a reputation for producing some of Guatemala’s most distinctive specialty coffees.

This is where our Farmer’s Coffee Guatemala is born — coffee that embodies craftsmanship, character, and connection to the land.
