Light roast= Presskann, pätikohv, Chemex, V60, AeroPress jne.
Crema röst e. caffe crema= täisautomaatne seade a la JURA
Espresso röst=Türgikann e. Ibrik, Moka kann või käpaga espressomasin.
Kui plaanid kohvi ise teha, siis vali kõigepealt valmistamisviisile sobiv röst. Pikema tõmbeajaga kohvijookidele – näiteks otse tassi, presskannu, filtermasinasse või Chemexisse / V60 sobib hele röst.
Lühema tõmbeajaga kohvijookidest käib vesi kohvist läbi kähku ning nendele valmistusviisidele on tume röst sobivam. Espressomasinasse, türgi ja mokka kannu sobib niisiis caffè crema või espresso röst.
